Girl Security Welcomes New Board of Director Members and Strategic Advisors
March 6, 2023 - Girl Security, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization driving change in national security through learning, training, and advancement for girls, women and gender minorities, is thrilled to announce the welcoming of four new members to its Board of Directors and Honorary Advisors.
National security veterans Diana Dragon, Tom Quinn, and General Thomas Waldhauser join the Girl Security Board with extensive backgrounds in the sector, having served in a range of military, intelligence, and cybersecurity leadership roles. In addition, Bill Wolf brings invaluable expertise in strategic growth, business development, and enterprise.
Joining as Strategic Advisors are Sonya Holt and Garrett Petraia. Sonya Holt is the recently retired Deputy Associate Director for Talent for Diversity & Inclusion and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer with the Central Intelligence Agency and will lend her expertise to several new Girl Security initiatives launching 2023-2023. Garrett Petraia who currently serves as Vice President of Enterprise Resilience with Levi Strauss & Co. As a longtime former member of the Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service, Garrett brings a unique perspective on the national security public-private sector nexus.
Diana Dragon brings to the board her experience in leading successful intelligence and business teams. She is the current Head of Global Insights at Standard Industries, a global industrial company, and a respected leader in the field with over 20 years of experience in the intelligence and business communities.
“From my experience in the public sector, for the United States to meet its national security objectives now and in the future, it requires as diverse of a workforce as possible to solve the most difficult of problem sets,” Dragon said. “It is truly an honor and privilege to contribute to a vision I believe in so strongly.” Dragon previously worked as an Operations Officer at the Central Intelligence Agency, as well as in the private sector, including positions at BP and JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Tom Quinn is currently the Head of Enterprise Security for T. Rowe Price and serves as the firm’s Chief Information Security Officer. He brings with him deep experience in cybersecurity and technology. Tom previously served as a managing security director for several major financial institutions.
General Thomas Waldhauser is a retired United States Marine Corps general who was the Commander of United States Africa Command. He previously served as Director for Joint Force Development
