Mentor Applications for the Girl Security 2025 Mentorship Program Now Open!
Thank you for your interest in being a Girl Security mentor!
The application period to become a mentor for the Girl Security 2025 Mentorship Program is open from October 7-18, 2024. This unique opportunity is a one-year commitment, supporting both the Winter 2025 and Summer 2025 sessions. As a mentor, you will have the chance to give back, guide, and inspire the next generation of leaders in national security.
Girl Security works with mentees aged 14-26 years from around the United States and its territories. We seek to pair dedicated women and gender minority national security mentors from all sectors and levels of experience with mentees who share a professional interest, identity, and/or set of experiences.
Eligibility Criteria for Girl Security Mentors
- Identify as a woman or gender minority
- Are based in the United States or its territories (exceptions made for U.S. citizens based abroad)
- Have experience in the national security field
- Are willing and able to commit to regular conversations with their assigned mentee(s)
- Support the Girl Security mission and agree to abide by the Girl Security Code of Conduct
Important Upcoming Dates
- October 7: Application opens to the general public
- Mentor Applicant Interview Period: October 7-31, 2024
- Mentor Application Deadline: October 18, 2024, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time
- Prospective Mentor Information Sessions:
- October 7, 2024, at 5:30 PM Eastern Time
- October 16, 2024, at 5:30 PM Eastern Time
