Girl Security, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization forging equity in national security by advancing girls, women, and gender minorities through supportive pathways, is thrilled to announce its fall 2021 Cohort of 26 fellows. 

The organization offers a twice-annual, high school-to-college fellowship program, which equips participants with skill-building, professional advancement, and mentoring for pathways at the intersection of national security, technology, and society. 

The program prepares fellows with cross-cutting learning and skill-building through biweekly workshops led by women in national security and matches them 1:1 with a mentor who will provide personalized support and engagement throughout the program. To complete the program, fellows will create a National Security Strategy (NSS) and have the opportunity to pursue an independent capstone project on a topic of their choice.

This fall’s cohort of fellows brings their crucial and diverse lived experiences, as well as their wide-ranging interests, to the program. Girl Security received over 150 applications from 35 states.
