Gina Bennett Knows Terrorism All Too Well

Ret. CIA counterterrorism expert Gina Bennett chats with Girl Security program assistants Amulya Panakam and Jane Pak about the recent terrorist threat against Taylor Swift in Austria.

Ms. Swift issued a statement after this interview, saying, “I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows.”

Ms. Bennett commented, “Ms. Swift deserves far more credit than she is likely to receive for her statement. Rather than reacting with pride and coming out swinging as we are so used to witnessing, she selflessly put her fans first. By doing so, she robbed the terrorists of the world stage they so desperately were seeking…and that is powerful.”
