Novetta Partners with Girl Security to Expand Opportunities in National Security for Girls, Women, and Gender Minorities

Girl Security is pleased to announce a partnership with Novetta, a leader in technology-enabled services and analytics for the National Security and Defense communities, to increase access to careers in national security for girls, women, and gender minorities.

The partnership supports Girl Security’s efforts to prepare girls, women, and gender minorities for national security careers, including pathways into cyber technologies and artificial intelligence, through learning, training, and mentoring.

As part of this engagement, Girl Security and Novetta will co-organize a professional development webinar for girls, and Novetta will be a featured partner of the National Security Fellows Program. The Fellows Program is a stipended, transitional high school-to-college fellowship program designed to provide the depth of learning, skill-building, and professional and community development support.

“Novetta is proud to partner with Girl Security. It’s my hope that we pave the way for better representation of women in national security while empowering female leaders in cybersecurity – I see this as a critical investment in our future,” said Novetta Vice President Cyber Defense & Enablement Amanda Satterwhite.

“The many pathways of national security — including cybersecurity and emerging technology, intelligence and defense, policy and law, and more — are growing at rapid speed, with many institutions looking to diversify their talent and find individuals with the 21st century skills needed to thrive in the workplace,” said Girl Security founder and CEO Lauren Buitta. “Companies like Novetta are leading the way in investing in solutions to build and foster a more inclusive workforce.”

Since 2016, Girl Security has been forging equity in national security by bringing national security learning to communities of girls, young women, and gender minorities across the United States. In addition, through its Fellows program, Girl Security provides financially-supported, practitioner-designed training that equips high school and college participants with enduring skills for a future workforce shaped by security and technology. Girl Security’s mentoring program is designed to offer the social capital and social networks often required to advance in male-dominated fields.
