Girl Security Announces New Chief Operating Officer and Mentorship Program Lead

July 22, 2024 – We are pleased to announce that Jorhena Thomas has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Girl Security. In this pivotal role, Jorhena will spearhead internal operations, drive organizational strategy, and foster critical partnerships. Jorhena brings a wealth of experience to this position. Previously serving as the Director of Mentorship and Professional Advancement, she has demonstrated unwavering commitment to empowering girls and young women in the national security space. Her expertise in operations management, analysis, and strategic communication will be invaluable as she leads Girl Security toward operational excellence.

We are equally delighted to announce that Lyssa Asbill, a seasoned Strategic Advisor with Girl Security, will be taking the helm as the leader of our esteemed Mentorship Program. Lyssa’s extensive background in the national security arena, combined with her exceptional people skills as a public relations specialist, uniquely qualify her for this important role. As a passionate advocate for supporting girls and women in security, Lyssa brings unparalleled expertise to the table. With her guidance, we are confident that our Mentorship Program will continue to grow and thrive.
